On 1st a Black-tailed Godwit was at the Dams, and again from 6th – 15th, with 2 Great Northern Diver fishing off Coble Landing. On 4th there were 4 Snow Bunting on Carr Naze (2 ringed). 2 Velvet Scoter were south off Brigg end. On 5th a Little Auk was off Carr Naze steps, and a Black-throated Diver was south of the promenade. Up to 57 Sanderling were more noticeable on local beaches during the month, possibly because of less disturbance. On 11th a Blackcap was on Hunmanby Gap road. On 12th and 15th a Red Kite was at Hunmanby Gap. On 21st a Chiffchaff was in Martins Ravine, and another at the Dams on 23rd. A Red Kite circled the town on 22nd, and then Hunmanby Gap on 23rd. A Richard’s Pipit was seen on 27th at the Bay Pool going south, and then probably the same bird on 30th at Carr Naze pond. Two Crossbills were seen the same day at Parish Wood.
