The Black-throated Diver remained in the bay off the Brigg, where 26 Red-throated Divers, two Gadwall, a Little Gull and an Arctic Skua passed in the morning. /a /manx Shearwater and a Pomarine Skua did likewise yesterday (14th), when a Snow Bunting was on Carr Naze.

A Firecrest was along the western hedge of the Tip today, while totals there and along North Cliff combined included 13 Goldcrests, 105 Tree Sparrows, 193 Linnets, three Stonechats, 63 Skylarks, 10 Grey Partridge and 13 Reed Buntings. 34 Redwing, 35 Blackbirds and a Sparrowhawk came in off, 94 Curlew were at the Gristhorpe Reef

A quiet couple of days, today’s highlights being a late Whimbrel over and a few Redwings and two Woodcock in Top Scrub this morning, another Woodcock on Carr Naze, and a Curlew and a Black-tailed Godwit still at the Dams. A generally quiet start to the month, although a Rough-legged Buzzard over the west of the town on 2nd maintains our annual strike rate recently of this rare winter immigrant. Otherwise, a Lapland Bunting went through the Gap on 1st, with notable vismig there on 2nd including a Merlin, 42 Pink-feet, 85 Skylarks, 23 Siskins,

The month closed with a return to south-westerlies and a strong passage of finches and other species at the Gap, with highlights of 81 Crossbills, 90 Siskins, six Twite, 13 Mistle Thrushes, 1500 Starlings and a Jack Snipe moving through. Lots of activitiy in brisk northerlies today, with a site record 32 Pomarine Skuas past the Gap as well as a Glaucous Gull (first of the season), a Little Auk, three Velvet Scoters, eight Shovelers, five Goldeneye, 15 Manx Shearwaters and five Pintail there, with counts from the Brigg including 10 Pomarine Skuas, six Goosander,
