As you are aware North Yorkshire has been placed in Tier 3 and as such I have to inform you that the Sea Watch and East Lea hides will no longer be accessible from midnight on January 1st, with no exceptions.
To ensure that we retain Observatory status and the prestige that goes with it, survey work will continue in the Filey area by members of the Ringing Team, following BTO and Government guidelines, but again this does not include access to the hides.
These moves are in line with those of other Reserves, Organisations and Parks Depts. and I would ask all Members to respect the Management Team’s decisions to ensure the health and safety of others.

Kindest Regards

Chris Hansell
