Three Fieldfare were at Hunmanby Gap and a Goldeneye at the Dams on 1st. Eleven Great Crested Grebe were off North Cliff. 17 yellowhammers were at the Tip and 180 Linnet in the Top Fields A White-fronted Goose was at the Dams. In the bay were: 1 Great Northern & 13 Red-throated Divers; 4 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Common Scoter.  Also 10 Shelduck and a Teal south, with 48 Sanderling (brigg roost). On 4th a Woodcock flushed off Brigg end. Two Woodcock roosting in Hunmanby Gap and two more dead Woodcock on the beach at the Gap. On 6th an adult Mediterranean Gull on water at East Lea A Short-eared Owl on 7th. On 8th a scarce Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Great Northern Divers in bay; 2 Little Gulls off brigg. 30 Eurasian White-fronted Geese south-east past Filey Brigg and a Chiffchaff at Hunmanby Gap On Filey Brigg: 40 Oystercatcher, 4 Redshank, 27 Turnstone, 10 Purple Sandpiper, 2 Mediterranean Gull south, 25 Razorbill, 20 Guillemot, 8 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Northern Diver, 8 Fulmar, 30 Gannet, 2 Shag, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Peregrine & 2 Rock Pipit. A flock of 30 Linnets flew north over Carr Naze and 13 Sanderlings were in Bay Corner. 140 Wigeon off paddling pool. Large flocks across The Tip and Top Fields – 750-1000 Starling, 200 Redwing, 25O Linnet and 25 Magpie together .  10 Fieldfare in The Tip.  A few Skylarks singing over Top Fields and a singing Song Thrush in Church Ravine. On 9th a male Eider, Carr naze steps. On 13th 24 White-f.  Geese in field to right of East Lea and 360 Wigeon off the paddling pool, with a lingering Mediterranean Gull at East Lea. On 16th eleven Shoveler off Martins Ravine and an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull at Dams East pool. A Scaup was at East Lea and stayed until month’s end. On 21st 24 Skylarks, 1 Corn Bunting south at the Gap. The regular escaped Harris’s Hawk present. A Red Kite over town on 22nd, with two at Hunmanby Gap. A pair of Goldeneye east pool hide Dams. 108 Red throated Diver in pre-roost gathering between Hunmanby Gap and Reighton Sands. A pair of Red-breasted Mergansers feeding close in just north of seawatch hide on 24th. On 25th 300 Pink-footed Geese flew north in several flocks. A Chiffchaff singing at the Dams. A Velvet Scoter, south off the Brigg. An Avocet was at Reighton Sands on 25th. A single Chiffchaff called twice from the scrub at Reighton Sands and a Barn Owl was seen hunting over Black and Middle Cliff. A noticeable increase in Rooks present at the Reighton Sands Rookery. 49 birds counted including 5 seen collecting nest material. On 26th an Egyptian Goose amongst 100 Canada geese in the west field at East Lea. On 28th three Great Northern Divers, two Great Crested Grebes; two Goosander north.73 Oystercatcher, three Redshank, two Grey Partridge, and the male Eider, and 1400 Starling, Fulmars were all along North Cliff.
