On 1st a Chiffchaff in willows by the boardwalk at back of East pool hide at the Dams and a second bird by East Lea gate. 2nd:  East Lea: 1 Woodcock. Bay corner, 6 sanderling, 2 Redshank, 3 turnstone, 1 great northern diver, 5 purple sandpiper, 8 red throated diver south, five on sea of Brigg, 3 Rock pipit. On 3rd a Water Rail & Chiffchaff by East Lea gate. Dams: Shoveler 10 (1 f), Wigeon 4, Gadwall 5, Teal c.100, f Sparrowhawk. One snow bunting Carr Naze. An Eastern Black Redstart was seen by a visitor on Carr Naze but then not seen again until 5th. It performed for all comers until 2nd January. A First for Filey. Bay corner 57 sanderling on 5th. 130 Pink footed Geese On 7th 250 pink feet headed south towards Filey across Cayton Bay. 16 Ringed Plovers on the Brigg. A Water Rail at Hunmanby Gap on 8th. An adult Lttle Gull south, with five Whooper Swans over Filey football field. By 13th 400 Pinkfeet were in East Lea fields. Two Little Gull were off the paddling pool. A Red-necked Grebe in bay corner stayed until 29th & Great Northern Diver on 14th. Adult Mediterranean Gull south, and Razorbill also seen. On 17th 23 Sanderling and a Snow Bunting on beach at Hunmanby Gap same time as 50 Sanderling in Bay Corner. On 26th three White-fronted Geese with mixed group of Greylags and Canadas at East Lea. One female Goldeneye at East Lea on 27th. On 28th seven White-fronted Geese on East Lea. On 30th single Manx Shearwater south, adult Little Gull present, Gannet 14 south, two north, Red-throated Diver, Fulmar, Kittiwake, Shag. On Brigg 24 Oystercatcher, 16 Purple Sandpipers, eight Turnstone, three Redshank. Grey Seal and Harbour Porpoise. Lastly in a very productive year were 580 Herring and 1,100 small gulls (Common/ Black-headed) in the Bay gull roost (seafront-brigg).
